Our Chapter's Mission and Values

The mission of our IISE chapter is to promote the profession of Industrial Engineering through organized effort in study, research and discussion of the fields of Industrial Engineering and the dissemination of knowledge thereby gained.  The Chapter shall promote membership in IISE by acquainting the student body with the ideas, purposes and objectives of IISE.

In addition to promoting the values of IISE, we strive to connect our members with each other and with professionals in IISE. We want to provide a memorable experience for our members that prepares them for life as future Industrial Engineers.

MEET THE E-BOARD!

Dr. Sherwin.webp

Dr. Michael Sherwin
       Faculty Advisor

Dr. Sherwin is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering, and started working at the University of Pittsburgh in 2020. Previously, he worked with companies such as Curtiss-Wright, Precision Therapeutics, and Kennametal.  He has been Pitt Chapter's IISE advisor since 2020.

Kayla Trahey
        Secretary

Kayla is a junior graduating in the Fall of 2023. She is a co-op intern for the Timken Company.  Kayla is a member of the Theta Phi Alpha sorority, involved in Pitt's Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and "Choose a Challenge" Club.  She is also a TA for IE 0015.

  Bill Wang
Chapter President

Bill is a junior graduating in Spring 2023. He was a management engineering intern this past summer at St. Luke's Hospital Network, and will be an upcoming supply chain intern at Colgate-Palmolive.  He is also a TA for IE 1052.

   Josh Cuddy
Senior Chapter Liaison
 

Josh is a senior and will be graduating in Spring of 2023. He is currently finishing out his co-op internship with Giant Eagle.  This summer, Josh plans to intern for BRG Healthcare.  He is involved in the Incline Consulting Group, Pitt Consulting Academy, and Engineering Peer Mentors.

Natalie Mann
   Vice President

Natalie is a senior graduating in Fall 2022. She is a member of both the Phi Sigma Rho sorority and a business manager for Alpha Pi Mu.  Additionally, she completed her co-op at UPMC Children's Hospital.

    Andreea Toader
Treasurer/Business Manager

Andreea is a junior graduating in the Spring of 2024.  She is a Quality Co-op intern at Parker Hannifin.  Andreea also does research with Dr. Renee Clark in the Engineering Education Research Center (EERC).
